We're very pleased to inform that IncrediBuild v3.01 has been released and is available for download here.
New "Xoreax Grid Engine" Interfaces
Version 3.01 is the first official version featuring the "XGE (Xoreax Grid Engine) Interfaces" extension package, which allows using IncrediBuild to
distribute execution of makefiles, data builds, QA scripts and many other Windows-based processes that can be broken down into
smaller parts. For more details on the new XGE Interfaces extension package, see this page.
Revised Multi-CPU Licensing
Starting with this version, a new "Multiple CPU(s)/Core(s)" extension package replaces the previous "Additional CPU" extension package.
Instead of requiring a package unit allocation per additional CPU as before, the new extension package now supports an
unlimited number of additional CPUs and cores. In other words, only a single package unit is required to support 2, 4 or 8 CPUs/Cores
on a single machine. This upgrade is applied automatically when upgrading to IncrediBuild v3.01.
New Consolidated "Visual Studio" Agent
Previously, differently-priced extension packages were available to support different Visual Studio versions.
Starting with this version, support for all Visual Studio versions (6.0, .NET and 2005) has been consolidated into
a single "Visual Studio" extension package. The base price for a "Visual Studio" IncrediBuild Agent is set to $349 USD.
More New Features
v3.01 features numerous performance, stability and usability enhancements over v2.61. For a full list of changes, see
this page. Here are a few highlights:
- Visual Studio custom steps, build events and custom build rules can be distributed through the new XGE Interfaces extension package.
- Execution of MIDL steps is distributed.
- New hardware benchmarking logic is used to improve Agent assignment logic (stronger machines will be assigned first).
- QuickLZ real-time compression library is used for enhanced performance.
- Incremental link performance in Visual Studio .NET and 2005 has been improved.
- Windows Vista support has been finalized.
