IncrediBuild, a development tool that substantially reduces C/C++ compilation was announced by Xoreax Software in the Microsoft European Tech-Ed conference this week. IncrediBuild distributes compilation tasks across workstations in the local network, cutting down compilation time by 90%.
Xoreax Software Ltd. announced IncrediBuild, a development tool that substantially reduces time spent by software developers on C and C++ project compilation, providing a substantial ROI for software companies. The speed boost is accomplished by distributing compilation tasks across user workstations in a local network.
"Software companies are losing money because of the compilation bottleneck," said Uri Mishol. Co-founder and director of marketing at Xoreax Ltd. "Less productive development teams mean longer development cycles and time-to-market. IncrediBuild makes software development more efficient by simply removing this bottleneck from the process".
Integrated with Microsoft Visual C++ 6.0, the popular development environment, IncrediBuild does not require developers to change working habits. Because distributed compilation tasks are performed in the background as low priority processes, responsiveness of user workstations is practically unaffected.
Apart from boosting compilation speed, IncrediBuild provides additional compilation-related features (such as a compilation progress bar and a visual compilation progress display) that provide added value to developers. "We've seen developers say they've simply fallen in love with the tool" Says Mishol. "What's so unique about IncrediBuild is that it appeals to managers and developers alike, since it cuts on development costs on one hand while providing a better development environment on the other".
A free, 45-day, fully functional trial version of IncrediBuild can be downloaded from the company's web site. The product can be registered online for 299 USD per seat (quantity discounts are available). IncrediBuild currently supports Microsoft Visual C++ 6.0, and a version for Microsoft Visual C++ .NET is planned for the near future.
IncrediBuild made its debut appearance on July 2, 2002 at Microsoft's Tech-Ed conference in Barcelona, Spain, where it was exposed, for the first time, to a European audience of approximately 7000 software developers.
